Once a person truly professes faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, sin does one thing. It breaks fellowship with God. It does not cost us our salvation. However, I question the concept of unrepentant sin in a true believer. Once you have made that proession of faith and earnestly mean it, there should be no sin that would be “unrepentant”. The Holy Spirit that lives in you is quick to convict you and if you truly believe in the grace God has shown you through His Son, you WILL repent in light of that grace. If you are unrepentant in light of that grace, might I suggest you really examine your profession of faith to make sure you really meant it when you made it. The good news is this . . . you still have time to make your salvation sure if you come to the conclusion that your previous profession of faith was not made in earnest. If a Christian has sinned and hasn’t yet asked forgiveness before they die, I believe they can be forgiven. Unrepentant was a poor choice of words on my part. Again, thank you.
I’ll add that there is still so much that I need to learn.
