Sentimental films make you more liberal, research suggests.
Political scientists found that Hollywood movies are better able to change attitudes in a left-wing direction than advertising or news reports.
Todd Adkins, of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, said audiences seemed to turn off their critical faculties when they reach the cinema.

Airplane is the classic tear jerker. Ted Striker is heartbroken because he lost Elaine’s love and is still trying to win her back despite also suffering from the emotional trauma of the war and a drinking problem. Elaine still loves Ted but has been hurt by him too many times to trust . . . not to mention her final fling with Otto.
Fight Club is similar. The main character is a regular at support groups, struggling to let his feelings out.
Who could resist those chick flicks?
I have watched this movie several times as well and LOL when the secretary in the publisher’s office asks Melvin (Jack) how he writes women so well. His answer - “I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.”
Tell them you cant cut me off you don’t know where I’m getting it.That will fix them.

“How do you write women so well?”
“I think of a man. Then I take away reason and accountability.”

It is doubly important to do this before state primaries, to take out as many RINOs as possible.
I hate to go against majority FREEPER opinion (I usually end up WRONG when I do this) but I agree with this study.
I think the best example of this is the film “Titanic”.
All of liberalism is based on pure emotion. This is no surprise at all.
When As Good As It Gets came out, the liberal whipping boy de jour was HMOs. Sure enough, they shoehorned a swipe at HMOs into the movie.
I get pretty weepy during “Its a Wonderful Life”. I had damp eyes watching the recent “Saving Mr. Banks”. I always have damp eyes watching “We Were Soldiers”. My wife finds it endearing.
I also get a tear in my eye reading the Declaration of Independence to my kids when I see how far off our country has gone from the original intent.
