And that was at the end of August! Looking at the list there are people in rowboats, kayaks, and jet skis up there. What a bunch of whack jobs!

NPR reported them as “tourists” trapped in the ice.

I think they're just tourists. That ship runs several trips/year in the area geared for people who are interested in seeing that part of the world in relative comfort.

These geniuses got stuck in Antarctic ice during SUMMER season there.

And now the days are getting shorter and colder. Time to get their sorry butts out of there and not talk about the carbon-footprint all this is having. How Al Gore like of them.

Gotta link? I’d love to read about that!

Just search in Bing by "yachts stuck in arctic ice".

You'll find more interesting stories.

When done reading them, switch to search by images.

If you click on an image, a larger one appears, in the lower right, you may have to scroll down to see it, is a link to the website where the picture is.

The one showing the pic of 2012 and 2013 is interesting, as well as the site.

The weather started getting rough. The tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost!

AP reported it this way:
The 74 scientists, tourists and crew on the Russian ship MV Akademik Shokalskiy, which has been stuck since Christmas Eve, had been hoping the Australian icebreaker Aurora Australis would be able to crack through the thick ice and allow them to continue on their way. The Aurora came within 20 kilometers (12 miles) of the ship Monday, but fierce winds and snow forced it to retreat to open water.

Kind of makes me wish that Polar Bears lived in Antarctica.

That Ship would make a wonder Buffet.
