Most people are likely watching this, but just in case.

i think that by now/if not sooner, the catch phrase “Where Is Al Gore” will overtake “Houston We Have A Problem” as the most commonly said catch phrase in America.
To: madison10
Nonsense. The polar ice caps are melting and seas are rising. We’re on track to have the warmest decade since records have been kept. By 2050, the high Sierras will be beachfront property.
What? You don’t believe me?
Well, smartypants, the IPCC, who are the world’s foremost experts on climate, have ‘deemed’ it so, so shut the hell up, you deniers!

Houston has already been warned that we are going to get freezing weather Monday night. I love cold weather!

That kind of weather is seriously dangerous. I urge people to hunker down inside as much as possible, and if you absolutely, positively have to go somewhere, DO NOT go alone - get someone to go with you, and at the very first sign of any kind of trouble or unforeseen circumstances, turn around and go home.

Predicted low here tomorrow is -18. Predicted high on Monday is -13. I don't envy folks who are having to deal with these arctic conditions. God bless you all.
It's only predicted to get down into the mid 30s by Monday in Dallas - Ft Worth, so I guess I've got nothing to complain about.

Why does the NOAA use ALL CAPS when they are giving their forecast?
That is so rude.
To: madison10
No matter how bad it is, it will never be important until it hits the east coast.

Predicted low here tomorrow is -18.
That’s nothing. Over there it’s going to be -26 and down there it’s going to be -36 and up there it’s going to be -41.
I don’t know where “here” is but you’re lucky.

People in the south don't get how we deal with cold weather and snow.
The reality is that winter should be easy time if you don't have to get out. You bust ass during the summer and fall then sit back and watch it snow during the winter.
Besides, the snow is beautiful.

It is always that way. If it hits the east coast, the storm is named “Hercules”. If it hits flyover, it is called Ion or Barney Fife.
LOL

Why does the NOAA use ALL CAPS when they are giving their forecast? I suspect it dates back to teletype days (there was no shift key).
