today i am making Coq au vin. Haven't made this since my law school bachlorette days. The recipe i used then must have been in the crock pot recipe book bc being from Pittsburgh i assure you i had never heard of any coq au vin! i remember liking it, so i hope it will be good.
That’s the van they use to deliver the cocoa.
Yum, yummy-I haven’t fixed that in years either-I’ve got chili on the stove and 2 baguettes of french bread rising, but I’m writing down the recipe and ingredients for that right now...
The crockpot kills, one of the nicest things, is it makes the house smell homey...because of household size, we always need to use 2, and walking in the door after several hours is heavenly.
The Coq, falls off the bone if marinated over night.(no pun intended, JAsses)
You can even serve it up like pulled pork....(with 8 I cook much chicken, lol)
The Coq au vin is part of memories of being a young wife and mom-we were both newly graduated, broke, living in a hovel with an inadequate gas furnace you lit with fireplace matches, with a mind of its own-good thing we were in love, because the thing barely kept it at 55-when it would light, that is...
That chicken dish was the nice meal I fixed when he’d worked some overtime and we had a few extra bucks. That was okay and romantic when I was young and idealistic, but I really hate revisiting it now, much older and jaded...
The buffalo chicken sounds great - I always melt butter and add to the bottled wing sauce before pouring onto wings so I can see where that would be good. And the addition of ranch dressing is great - I use it in my buffalo dip too! Thanks for the recipe - now I have to go read the other one
