“Normally I set it at 77 in the day and it always climbs to 76, turn it down to 71 at night.”

Wow! I like 70 in the daytime and 55 at night.

Been doing that for years.

I’m in MA——18 degrees today.

I used to set at 72 and turn down to 65 at night. But these newer furnaces are different animals. I used to stand in front of a register to warm up, doesn't feel so warm any more.

I'm in IA and today's high was 10 I think.

Natural gas, on the budget, resisted for years. Just paid my bill for last cycle, $150.80 for a sprawling Craftsman bungalow with tons of windows (I like lots of natural light and I like windows on every side of the house). When there's wind, very drafty; otherwise, ok.

With the older, warmer furnace, the last one, think I'm on the third new one in this house, my winter bills were $400 and $500 plus a month.

Plus I now have ac and use it a lot because humidity is harder on me now. They will play catch up at some point. This month isn't going to be any $150!!!
