Their are a couple of these phenoms on youtube, one who shreds Steve Ray Vaughn @ 12, and a 11 or 12 year old girl who is just as good. All amazing talents in my book, this kid on stage included...

I like all 3 of those guys - Eddie and satriani particularly. Eddie has had a major impact on guitar / music. He is known for popularizing tapping but my favorite involves his non-tapping licks and sound.

RE Belew: King Crimson was a good place for him back in the day.

Steve Hackett formerly of Genesis is another great guitarist but not so much in the spotlight.

Zappa was another monster on the axe; a little out there, but unique.
