Want to do the same thing. Yesterday my ATT monthly $100 bill arrived for precious Land line and Internet. $1,200 a year for endless solicatations and crappy DSL. What do we do?
I got rid of land line over 10 years ago. But, first I did some homework. I looked at propagation maps of my home, looked at the technology used by the cell providers, and went with Verizon: CDMA technology, PCS frequency spectrum, solid coverage map where I live. I have land line quality cell phone calls at home.
