This is an extraordinary piano duet performance of Igor Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" ("Sacre du Printemps") by pianists Michael Tilson Thomas and Ralph Grierson.
If you are familiar with the orchestrated version, this is an entirely different listening experience -- one that really clarifies the harmonies and individual lines that are sometimes obscured by the orchestration.
"Rite of Spring" has always been one of my favorite pieces since I first encountered it when I saw Disney's animation of it in "Fantasia" in college. About a decade later, I discovered this piano duet version, and was thrilled to recently find it on YouTube.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like Stravinsky, you will love this.

MTT is a national treasure. He knew Aaron Copland and studied under him briefly. The Stravinsky/Rite of Spring episode was particularly good because my knowledge was close to zero about it. Every episode I watched, I said: this is the BEST one. Hoping there may eventually be another season, but when you see how much work goes into one episode, it’s doubtful.
