Space is very vast, but it is also full of lots of stuff, not only asteroids and comets and meteorites but our own man made space junk. And we are hit by very small, micro-small asteroids and meteorites every day. There is a lot of stuff out there.

Eventually something “big” will impact the Earth; it has after all happened before. But I’m not about to freak out or fret over this very small possibility. Statistically speaking the chances of an extinction level event happing during our life time is quite small.

And if one day should it happen during my lifetime; I’m going to get a lawn chair, pour me a good strong drink and sit back and watch the “show”. If we were to be impacted by an extinction level event, that’s about the only thing I could do and I’m going to at least enjoy the fireworks and go out with a bang! LOL!
