The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Happy Sunday!

Lots of football this weekend. Gina, sorry about the Saints.

A decent lineup tonight. Fibber McGee & Molly is disappointing but the 10pm hour has solid detective shows.

How's everyone?

Hi, Vision! Yes, that was a painful game yesterday! I didn’t have my hopes too high, but it was still a bummer when they lost to Seattle.

All’s well here. We’re very glad that bitter cold has moved on. How’s it going with you?

Hi Gina, it was freezing cold here, like a low of 5f for a few days, lots of rain yesterday, but today was sunny and almost 50. Took the scooter for a drive after it looked like SF had set the win in place.

How did yesterday go for you? It was like God was against the Saints. Just awful.

Due to the rain I braised chicken yesterday and it was pretty good.

That was definitely a whole-team loss yesterday. It wasn’t on any one guy, from the kicker, to Drew Brees to Ingraham’s fumble for a score and the other dropped passes, lots of them helped bring on the loss.

We have the Denver-San Diego game on now. We heard that SF game earlier. You’re right about SF.

I know you’re darned glad that terrible cold has moved on! I’m baking more of my giant chocolate chip cookies to give to more people who didn’t get any of the first Christmas batches. Keith just took some chicken out of the freezer and put it in some brine to thaw. Guess it’ll go on the grill.

Denver will win this dominantly.

After watching these four games I'll say it's a Broncos vs Seahawks Superbowl with the Seahawks winning.

Meh. I’m starting to not buy this storyline. They had me until Matt resisted stopping the killing of the woman/bartender.
