Oh. Yikes. Shelties.

Well, think of a Border Collie, only with attitude. Give them their own pet, or as the other poster alluded, a buddy.

I’ve never had one myself, except for a rescue female for about 6 months. Also a friend of mine had one for many years.

Very smart, desirous of attention, hard to break of bad habits yet eager to please. Both the females I knew were the ‘queen bee’ meaning dominant. Not bad dogs at all. Those traits can be good if that is what you wish. And they are sweet and beautiful. Just don’t let on that she’s the smartest in the room, LOL.

I’ve mellowed from a collie person to a lab person. I simply haven’t the energy any more.

Thanks very much for the information. My sister had a border collie, so we know how smart they are. Amazing dogs! I know that the Shelties are similar in some ways, so we will have to make sure that we can keep him/her busy and happy. We want one badly, but need to be sure we can take care we have the time to care care of one properly. We have some decisions to make... Thanks again!
