We can pay all of it in January or 1/2 in January and 1/2 in July.

Not sure if it is set by the state or the county.

They still have “Easter” candy? I thought it was all “spring” candy now.

Stale is the best.

We always slit the plastic and let them sit for a few days.

Gotta satisfy that peeps craving you’ve been waiting so long for...

I heard that the chocolate peppermint peeps that were out around Christmas were pretty good.

Saw a bunch of Easter stuff in Hobby Lobby the other day.

It's a little different at Hobby Lobby and Michael's because they are oriented toward selling equipment and supplies for crafts. If you're going to make some kind of holiday decoration, as many of us do, you need to be starting several months before the holiday. The displays put us in the mood to start on making stuff.

But a display of holiday candy several months before a holiday is DISGUSTING. Makes you realize that either (a) the candy is going to be rotten by the time the holiday arrives, or (b) it's full of whatever hideous toxic chemicals keep it from rotting in the intervening four or five months. In either case, Yuck.

My local grocery store has Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s and Easter displays already — went up right after Christmas.

I teach crafts so in a crafts store it is normal to see “Christmas in July” because crafters like to start 6 months before the holiday. Halloween usually appears around July or August, Valentine’s Day even before Christmas.

But, I too am seeing this in other stores. Pretty soon, ALL the holidays will be displayed all year round.
