"Have you ever been bitten by a dead snake?"
apparently it was a communist snake...
just when you think its dead...it bites you ..again.
What goes around comes around
I don’t want to think about how many times this has happened to me.
Probably just me but I would have been a bit creeped out by the snake being on top of a tomb stone.
Hoo, hoo, hoo, look who knows so much. It so happens the snake was only mostly dead, and mostly dead is slightly alive...
(With apologies to Billy Crystal.)
Much like my ex-wife, 5 years after my final divorce settlement payment.
Maybe another one was down in the vase.
When I was little I was playing with a dead Cotton Mouth and it tried to get me. I learned young, chop off the head and stomp on it good.
-—old timers all ways cut the head off any snake they killed even if they were going to just throw it into the brush....I never knew why...........I should have asked..%%%
I saw something like this on “Dual Survivor”, rattler still biting after it’s head was completely cut off — it was pretty creepy. They buried the head fangs down to prevent an animal (or themselves) accidentally stepping on it while it was still lethal.
He should have called a snake catcher. There was no need to kill the thing - if it was sunning itself it would have stayed there for ages - giving plenty of time for a snake catcher to come and remove it!
NO.
You use a hoe, and cut its head off.
dead snake bites itself...
I’ve noticed this with copperheads that I’ve killed.
Even seen bodies with severed and separated heads strike. How did they do that?
I don’t touch them until 24 hours after any movement has stopped, and then only after testing the head or body part with a long-handled tool.
This is why I suggest killing snakes into no fewer than 17 pieces
I was in AZ some years ago and the guys chopped a red racer in half and went to lunch. Some time later one of them threw the snake onto some hot pavement and it went nuts without a head.
It had been at least an hour.
kill it, then crush the head. if you didn’t kill it first by crushing its head.
Yep. Seen it before.
I cut the head off a rattler earlier this summer. put the head in the trash and came back three hours latter to find the body still moving.
I have a friend who butchered a sanpping turtle. He chopped the head off and the thing contibnued to walk around the yard. He put a trash can over it, went to work and upon his return found it still able to walk around the yard.
Up`n` here them mountain rattlers will wiggle their tails til sundown-
Every hillbillie knows that-
Them thar cityslickers don`t no nuthin`
then they git bit.
