"It’s sad to watch,, one more sport in the gutter.. and they deflated the HumpDome last week too ... not to worry, Nascar is almost ready to roll another gutter ball so don’t sell the ranch yet"

It's not as if NASCAR hasn't had its own brawls in recent years, up to and including deliberate collisions on the track, which in my view is a bit more irresponsible than football trash-talk.

As for Richard Sherman, his outburst was unfortunate and undoubtedly lost the Seahawks some of the nation's casual fans. But, as others have pointed out, the level of on-field trash-talking in the NFL would shock a lot of people, so Sherman's comments were not as outrageous as they might have seemed. Boasting is ubiquitous, but fans are usually shielded from the angrier manifestations of it. No doubt Crabtreee had been saying some things that Sherman found very insulting.

Football writers almost universally say that Richard Sherman is a likeable guy despite his bombast, and he and Russell Wilson are the twin faces of this Seahawk team. Wilson is the modest Boy Scout, Sherman is the swagger guy. As my girlfriend put it (in a bit more graphic manner than I am putting it here), Sherman is the guy you'd like to have a fling with, Wilson is the guy you'd like to marry.

I found this in Sherman's wiki bio:

Sherman has been involved in several controversies during his short NFL career. One of these controversies is his Optimus Prime nickname, referring to Calvin Johnson, who is nicknamed Megatron.[17] Sherman repeatedly taunted Tom Brady and the Patriots during an October 2012 game. After the game, Sherman posted to his Twitter account a photo of himself yelling at Brady with "U mad bro?" superimposed on it. He later removed the post.[7] Sherman also stirred controversy with his response to not being selected to the 2013 Pro Bowl.[13] In March 2013, Sherman went on to ESPN First Take, where he argued with Skip Bayless. Sherman told Bayless "I'm intelligent enough and capable enough to understand that you are an ignorant, pompous, egotistical cretin. I am going to crush you on here because I am tired of hearing about it." He also claimed that he was "better at life" than the First Take analyst.[18] Sherman was also involved in a Twitter feud with fellow NFL cornerback, Darrelle Revis,[19] to the point that Joe Haden also involved himself into the conversation, claiming that he was the No. 2 cornerback in the league, behind Revis and ahead of Sherman.[20] Sherman has also been involved in controversies with Trent Williams[21] and Roddy White.[22]

I hearya on what we don’t hear,, btw, did you see the zit on Russell’s face in an after game interview? First thing my wife noticed. Get some Proactiv to him. ;-)

You’d think somebody on the 9ers would have popped it for him.

How many times did he get sacked.? And now with Aldon smith facing hard time potentially,, ouch.

NASCAR has enough zit faced drivers these days to fill two NFL teams and play about as well. At least we don’t have refs in nascar as it were. Altho temporary blindness still happens.. Onto The Snow me over Bowl
