Yeah, it was still kind of okay when “Yo! MTV Raps” was just one hour of programming, but after a couple years they went hip hop twelve hours a day, and it’s been trash ever since.
Nah, VH1 was around while MTV was still playing videos. VH1 just played the more “adult” stuff, while MTV was for the younger crowd. VH1 was actually owned by MTV anyway, so they were never in competition. Maybe you are thinking of “MTV2”?
Yeah, nobody is exactly holding any moral high ground in this relationship, it sounds like.

And MTV when they do play videos mostly plays rap videos, BUT they have a separate channel just for playing Rap videos.
