I’m betting that the reason that Tony voted out Trish and kept Woo was his fear of Spencer. He knows that neither he nor Kass nor Trish can beat Spencer in a challenge but Woo can, and he needs that to happen next week to get rid of Spencer pronto.

His reason for keeping Kass over Trish is obviously that he feels he can beat Kass for jury votes in the end but not Trish, and he is looking to take Kass to the end.

But did he really think that through because Trish would have been a solid vote on his side assuring that he got to the end.

If Kass lives up to her moniker and looks over at that jury and realizes that she can’t win no matter who she faces at the FC, even Tony, then she might just vote Tony out next week to make sure that since she can’t have the $million, she will make sure that Tony can’t have it either.

As far as the idol he blew it big. He should have placed both idols around his neck as he did but played the lesser idol for himself instead of giving it to Jeff to throw
away. That would have sufficed but what he did looked really clumsy, bad, childish, petty and stupid.

What if the subsequent votes had been for Tony instead of Trish??? He would then have had to use his super idol to save himself and wouldn’t be able then to carry out his idol charade strategy for next week.

And Jeff last night forgot to say that this was the last night that idols can be played — or was it by intent???

An announcement like that clarifying the rules of the idols would interfere with Tony’s upcoming idol charade strategy. So we can’t have that. We can’t clarify the rules of the game to be fair to everyone because then the producers wouldn’t be able to make up the rules as they go along and enter the game on the side of Tony.

Yep, that was what I guessed last week, that Tony’d eject Trish as she would have no chance of keeping Spencer out of the final three. The lack of the play with the extra idol is a disappointment. Yet another blown opportunity. Mostly because he's been playing hard to keep himself in the game (not exactly smart about it either), I guess at this point, I'd rather see Spencer in the final three than Kass. But with everyone acting like idiots half the time, it'll likely be Woo who gets ejected. Spencer wins by a narrow vote.

Yeh — I think Woo would fall for Tony’s idol charade — and even Trish would have — but I don’t see Spencer or Kass falling for it. They are the type that would demand to see production and get a clarification of the rules rather than take Tony’s word for it.

Previews show the Pole Challenge with two poles already empty — Tony and Kass already having fallen or jumped off.

Woo bending down holding his platform while Spencer is doing a flip off of his.

Either Spencer and Woo just struck a deal or Spencer wins immunity.

Either way that should spell the end of Tony next week —

Did Jeff say that last night was the last time an immunity idol could be played? I don’t remember.

IIRC, someone up-thread said they might go back to a final 2 instead of a final 3 this season. I wonder if that’s true.

I like the F2 rather than 3 because #3 is always the goat who should have been sent home many TCs before.

What the heck was Tony’s reasoning with those idols? That was so stupid and cost him Trish’s vote. That little stunt might have cost him several jury votes, too. I couldn’t care less about Kass but after Tony throwing the idol away has me leaning toward her for the win out of spite. At least we won’t have to see emmaciated Trish and her horse teeth anymore.

Yeah, I like Woo but he’s a bit woo-woo in the thinking department. He hasn’t ticked off any of the jury but he is a lost puppy on strategic play.

Spencer would merely be a place marker if he hadn’t been winning challenges. Still can’t believe he and Kass are still in the game.

Here from Entertainment Weekly:

EW: Traditionally, the final 5 is the last time one can use a hidden immunity idol, although you made no such announcement to that effect. Does that mean Tony is indeed bluffing by making people think he can use his special idol at the final 4?

PROBST: Hmm, did I miss it? I thought Tony was really clear in saying that it’s only good until final 5 and that he’s bluffing them telling them it’s good until a final 4. [ED NOTE: He did, but Jeff never confirmed at Tribal Council.] Either way, yes, the idol is only good until the final 5 and after that it has no value. So Tony is indeed bluffing. It’s a brilliant move that none of us anticipated. He realized that because it was “new” and had “different powers” that he could create any story he wanted. This is why we continue to experiment with different ideas. You put in something new and you see what it births. While the power of this special idol was not new, we did think the placement of it as a “one-off” at the merge might yield some interesting results. There isn’t a science to Survivor, we just do our best to think through ideas and the ones that feel solid we give them a shot.

[POSTERS NOTE: So there you have it — In lieu of the rules of Survivor coming from the mouth of Probst and the producers, Survivor has deferred to informing players and viewers by way of a two-faced backstabbing corkscrewing double-dealing prefabricating contestant — and Probst applauds this. Tony speaks for Probst and Survivor — and we’re supposed to believe him. Furthermore in order for him to be attempting this bluff, he had to have cleared it first with Probst and the producers to make sure that Probst did not make any announcement re the super idol expiring at the Tribal Council. This smacks of collusion and makes one wonder just how much of Tony’s game came with the help of Probst and the producers]

BTW I listened to Trish’s interviews yesterday and she is still picking ticks off of Tony’s backside — cleaning up and covering up for him. She not only excuses him for voting her out but then turns around and compliments and applauds him for doing it. Her excuse is so convoluted and contrived and painful on the ears that it sounds like it came from Tony himself.

Trish is brain-dead :p I think when she got that dehydrated, it also sucked the juice from her brain >.< :p It was actually the first vote-out I agreed with in several years ;^)

I’m betting that if Tony and Kass are not eliminated at the next Tribal Council, then it will be a Final 3 rather than a Final 2.

If I were on the jury and had only two choices — Tony or Kass — I would refuse to vote or if they said I had no choice that I had to vote then I would scribble down some gibberish and tell them to decipher it.

Tony is in at least to final 3.. Hope it goes to 2 though... been a long time since it was 2 (what, 8 years ago?!)..

btw, I personally DON’T want Tony in the finals.. but, he is pretty much already there.. (hate smart-@$$es..)... Tash was the last one that was playing that I respect.. I like Woo.. just because he is harmless, but that is NOT what makes a winner on Survivor :p

Between Kass and Tony.. if I HAD to vote, I would probably go Tony.. Kass .. well, I don’t have to explain ;) (still don’t like the jerk he is though)..

3 Tribal Councils — so it will be a F2 Council not an F3

I initially thought that was a pole standing challenge but they are drawing up buckets of water to fill a tube.

It looks to be part of a larger challenge because Tony is already off his pole, Spencer just jumped off, and Woo and Kass are still pulling buckets of water up.

No -- he's not there yet.

His idol is no good and if the others are smart they will realize that if his idol was any good then he would not have tried so hard to win this challenge which I'm betting he loses and would not be crying like the baby he swears on afterwards.
