Petra Diamonds says the 29.6-carat diamond came from the Cullinan mine, source of some of the worlds most famous diamonds.
A 29.6-carat blue diamond, one of the rarest and most coveted in the world with a possible price tag of tens of millions of dollars, has been discovered at a South African mine by Petra Diamonds.
The miner said the "exceptional" acorn-sized diamond, small enough to fit into the palm of a hand, was unearthed at the Cullinan mine near Pretoria.
The mine, owned by the firm since 2008, was also where the Cullinan Diamond was found in 1905 - described as the largest rough gem diamond ever recovered and weighing 3,106 carats.

Michelle will claim it. It would be awfully racist not to give it to her.
I hope the dude gets a nice bonus.
It's the gift that keeps on giving.

about a valuable to me as a tulip bulb in 1638.

Ok Clark Griswold.
OMG, that’s where I left it.. It’s usually my glasses or keys, but this time.. geeez I can identify it, it’s big and blue, and dirty.. That is all I can remember, I’m old.. :)
I found a diamond here years ago (not quite that big though...lol)
Actually, blue diamonds are, in addition to being blue, are unique... Diamonds normally do not conduct electricity. Blue diamonds do. It is doped with boron. It’s electrical properties are that it is a very good electron emitter. I would love to have one for experimenting... But it doesn’t need to be that big.
Just imagine the cutting tool one could make with that...
