Welcome back, Chet99.
It's nice to know that visceral unreasoned hatred of a breed of dogs has returned.
The single line in this article that disturbs me the most is:
She was conducting what is known as a Fourth waiver search on a 16-year-old probationer, meaning he had waived his Fourth Amendment rights to demand a search warrant as a condition of his probation.
How can a MINOR WAIVE ANY RIGHT? He doesn't own where he lives, and it's extraordinarily unlikely he's independant...
I know of many, and was one of few independant minors back in the day. NOT ONE of us would have snivelled to be "free" had it meant random searches by the probie po-po.
We would have laughed at the judge... She was conducting what is known as a Fourth waiver search on a 16-year-old probationer, meaning he had waived his Fourth Amendment rights to demand a search warrant as a condition of his probation.
How far a stretch is THAT?!?
visceral unreasoned hatred
Redundant, and wrong. Killing pitbulls, and the lengthy imprisonment of any pitbull owner who harms a human, is perfectly reasonable.
I kill fire ants. It may be visceral, and possibly hatred, but not "unreasoned".
