Asian elephants can be domesticated & have been for thousands of years. African elephants are intractable. Even Hannibal’s `war elephants’ were of the Asian species.
But a wild elephant is just that, no matter where it comes from. And they are not people!! I wonder how many humans have been trampled to death because their perception of elephants was based on Walt Disney productions?
Thanks for distinguishing the general behaviors of the two elephant varieties. I didn't know that the train-ability was different.
I have read somewhere that when a domesticated elephant takes it upon itself to kill a human, their way of doing it with contempt is to crush the person with their head.
Don’t know if that is true, but it sounds pretty gruesome.
