(CNN) -- Police in Northern California have arrested an elementary schoolteacher after she allegedly brought marijuana-laced food to an after-hours employee potluck dinner.

Teresa Gilmete Badger, a 47-year-old teacher at Matthew Turner Elementary School in Benicia, was arrested Friday afternoon on suspicion of poisoning after a six-week-long investigation, said Lt. Frank Hartig of the Benicia Police Department.

After the late-November get-together in the Bay Area town, several people reported feeling ill, a police statement said.

Not close. East coaster.

Wife was going for work, I went cuz I could. We were in Austin (I know only nominally texas) but hey the home town of both junior brown and bill kirchen these days, among some other notables of twang.

Missions and riverwalk (which I could have skipped) were all we got to as it was just a day trip.

Oh well. Tuck it away for later, maybe. I love Austin for the music & the food, but other than that...only in very small doses. Very small. My favorite part of Texas (besides the coast) is out by Alpine/ Sanderson/ Marfa.

Yeah. The river walk is a tourist trap.

Boy, I would love to get to visit the East Coast’s beaches- Georgia to Maine. (+ sister in Florida & good friend on the coast in NC) That’s the only thing I don’t love about Texas- except for south, it sure takes a long time to get across a state line from here.

Give me an hour, and from here where I am in Maryland, I could get to Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and (if I drive a bit faster than I should) West Virginia.

Try Old Orchard Beach, Maine for a little scratch your headed-ness.

Buddy of mine and I, back in the days we were previously speaking of, rolled into town and wondered why in the hell everyone was speaking French. Guess the water’s warm enough there for the Quebecois.

The coast of Maine is prettier than any of its postcards.

The son of my friend in NC lives in Maryland. That would sure have it’s advantages.

:-) I see quite a few “bilingual” places. Wow. And it looks like they are pet friendly, too. That would be quite a road trip from Texas. (lol Nova Scotia has entered the discussions around here), but it would be the trip of a lifetime.

I believe it. It’s so pristine. I would love to go there!

Thanks “KGeorge’’(Your Majesty?) The alcohol gene ran big on my late mothers side. Her father was a drunk , a wife beater and a child molester. May he continue to rot in Hell. There's nothing wrong with drink until it becomes a problem. Same is true for the weed(which was legal in America until 1937.) The only real problem with weed is getting caught with it. I wouldn't however recommend driving under it's influence or operating power tools.

?? (Your Majesty?) I’m not of a “tee totaler” mindset, but I’m glad I avoided the risk.

Driving was my thought re eating something with pot in it. If home isn’t close & you don’t realize pretty quick what you’ve just done, it’s a loooong way. Even when I was young & stupid, I didn’t like driving under the influence just smoking. Too stressful.
Power tools- oh, Hell no! LOL You know I’m a “she”, right? I’m dangerous enough with hand tools.

I guess the teacher misunderstood the meaning of the term “potluck.”

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

This is poisoning, plain and simple. Normal people who do not use drugs will have bad reactions
