Polar bears are modifying their diets to adapt to climate change

Polar bears are often thought as the animal that is most effected by global warming, but new research has shown that when the food they prefer is not available, the bears are willing to change their diet, according to the International Business Times. Though they prefer seal, in times when they are not available researchers have found they will eat caribou, snow geese, grass seed and berries.

seals being easier to catch doesn't necessarily make them preferable... i'm sure caribou is just as tasty to them only it's more work

Since they are omnivorous they eat a thing edible where ever they are.

I wonder if this explains how the polar bear population has grown from 5,000 in the 60s to 25,000 now. The like it warm, and they eat anything they want to eat.

Any word yet on those polar bears they shipped off to Antarctica? I’m sure they have plenty of penguins to eat down there.
