My dad was a letter carrier and got bit often. He loved dogs too but some of the bites he received required surgery and the threat of Rabies. They gave my father and other carriers pepper spray that often had no affect against an attacking dog. Maybe this cop just didn’t want to be bit.

My point was that the incidence of dog shooting by cops seems to be more frequent. Of course some dogs do bite and nobody wants to be bitten. But the increased frequency of the shootings begs the question: Have the dogs changed, or has the police attitude toward killing them changed?

it had "an effect" on the "peaceful" dog next door; that would nip @ ppl.'s ears from behind
a large shrubbery, it "climbed" the far door the next time i walked by..peace @ last.
the owner knew about the problem.
