I’ve always been partial to Jim Beam or WL Weller myself.

Never liked Vodka.

F’em all...

OUR Bourbon is the Envy of the modern world, and every single American “Appalachian Entrepreneur” can brew a batch of White Lightnin’ that’s FAR SUPERIOR to anything the Euroboneheads can come up with.

Americanism... it’s not just for breakfast anymore, baby...

I buy Bourbon or whiskey to sip and to flavor foods. Vodka, Gin does not lend itself to sipping or flavoring! Some dark Rums are good for sipping and flavoring foods. A good Scotch is always good for sipping. I also like the darker beers.

More congeners also = more color, meaning dark booze will typically give you a worse hangover than an equal amount of the light stuff.

For some obscure reason I can drink an essentially unlimited amount of black rum without getting even the slightest hangover. Wake up with a song in my heart and a spring to me feets.

Of course, sometimes I don't where I am when I wake up, or what I did the latter half of the evening, but that's another story entirely.

Same here.

And the best dark beers are better at room temp.

That map raises eyebrows. One would think that whiskey would predominate in Ireland and gin in England, yet according to the map, it’s vodka which does in both countries. It would also figure that brandy, not whiskey would predominate in France. I’ve never heard of French whiskey.

Yes their wonderful complex flavors are best at that temp. same with a good bourbon or scotch.

Wonder what a beer map would look like. I understand they’re even making it in Germany now...

It’s almost impossible to get a decent beer at any bar in America.

Bud, Miller, Coors in all their variants are little more than moose piss.

Vodka has become popular, in part, because it is so combinable and can go with just about anything. I love the stuff and it’s not too harsh. Used to drink a rum mostly but switched several years and enjoy it.

“...are little more than moose piss....”

Profound statement from Hale coming your way in 3...2...1

“Even Mooses must piss eventually”.

You WILL see that one in “The Book Of Profundity” someday, my friend, you just mark my slurred words...
