Asia rings in Year of the Horse with fireworks, festivities

Beijing (AFP) - Fireworks illuminated the skies across Asia and millions of families gathered together Friday to usher in the Year of the Horse, kicking off a week of celebrations that included a performance by Braveheart actress Sophie Marceau on China's annual televised gala.

In asia they are celebrating the Year Of The Horse while here In Washington D.C the Year Of Jackass Action just got underway.

I was shopping in a Vietnamese supermarket this morning. The music being piped in was in Vietnamese, but then they played an English-language New Years song, which reminded me that it’s New Years Day.

By the way, my year is the year of the cat.
