Mattie Moore was taking her usual two-hour walk around Martin Luther King Park with her dog early Sunday morning when her foot and leg suddenly fell through the ground. Holding herself above ground with her elbows, she slowly crawled out to safety.
But as she struggled to escape what turned out to be a deep sinkhole... her dog saw her distress and came running back to her.
He thought something was wrong, she said. He comes up behind me and falls right in.

Nice doggie picture! I’m glad both owner and pet were saved.
... but oddly there are several stories of firefighters refusing to rescue drowning people, or someone having a heart attack, unless and until they were officially dispatched.
Fire folks save dogs while cop thugs kill them 24/7.
That’s worse than a porcupine falling on your head, not that that would ever happen.
Awww what a handsome guy! And a sweetheart of a dog. Firemen are the cream of humanity.
