Pretty mild compared to what has happened in other cities after something like this - a few couches were burned in front of frat houses near the UW, some damage was done to the pergola in Pioneer Square, the cops were on scene and it wasn’t nearly that bad. The headline from some nobody’s blog says RUN RIOT - not true.
Is the cathedral safe? Starbucks Uno!
When they surpass the Nika Riots of 532 AD, let me know....
After the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Stanley Cup win in ‘09 a few couches got burned in and around the Pitt campus.
The reaction of local politicians was to pass a law making it illegal to have a couch on your front porch in the City of Pittsburgh.
They said there were a few arrests at frat row, but nothing major. As I watched the kids through their couches and mattresses on the fire in the middle of the road I was thinking “They’ll be regreting that tomorrow night.” Perhaps the head of the frat house will be making them sleep in the bathroom a few nights?
the pergola that was renovated at such a high cost back in 2001?
