we didn’t have skirts...just a long tunic with big box pleats..and no waistline...and a belt..in the winter

and a cotton tunic with a poodle skirt in the summer..

under it we wore a white long sleeved button up shirt with a tie in black and red angled stripes in the winter and a white short sleeved blouse no tie in the summer..

black laced up leather shoes all year with black stockings in the winter and white bobby socks in the summer...

in high school we wore a straw hat and would be suspended if we didn’t still have it on all the way home..

Wow! We sound like strippers compared! Of course this was New Orleans-in the 60’s. We did havea-line grey wool skirts tho and blazers, over white cotton blouses, which we wore in September. Now September is so hot we would pass out in wool blazers and skirts. Also-no air conditioning then!
I burned those hated uniforms at the end of senior year. Still can’t look at saddle oxfords.
