Everything in the article goes against him except for this:
Hamilton said Oulsen was the aggressor who was shouting and cursing at Reeves in the theater.
It wasn't all bad for Reeves.
Actually I watched the hearing and I don't know where the authors got that statement.
The witnesses stated that the shot came immediately after the popcorn was thrown.
One said that he pulled and fired in such a “fluid motion” that it appeared as if he already had the gun out before the popcorn was thrown.
This was particularly deleterious to the defense:
Hamilton’s testimony included details about the conversation between Reeves and his wife after Oulson had been shot.
“He leaned toward his wife and made a comment, and she postured and said ‘that was no cause to shoot anyone.’
And then he leaned back around, stuck his finger out, as to scold her, and said ‘you shut your f***in mouth and don’t say another word.’
[Mrs] Reeves gets up and goes down one chair and again postures, and the look on her face, she was P.O.ed at him.”
Yeah, one would hope. It seems like he is a wifebeater also.

It’s too bad the articles don’t have the statement that the air force officer made regarding the shot.
He said that the shot came so fast after the popcorn flew and Reeves firing was such a “fluid motion” that it looked as if he already had the gun out when the popcorn flew.
