The American media is having a field day today mocking the Russians for some supposedly inadequate hotel accommodations....the proof for this is whining on Twitter.
My suspicion is that the media has decided to AMPLIFY the complaints...which may be legitimate....merely to cast a pall on Putin's games.
Consider: The entire Western media, along with Team Obama hates the unanimous decision of the Russian parliament to keep sodomite propaganda away from children. Yet they have to cover the story in a reasonable manner without risking getting the boot.
I believe it is VERY FEASIBLE to that efforts are being made to create bad images from Russia....even though that is contrary to the full picture.
You can likely find complaints on Twitter about ANY given place....it doesn't necessarily mean the whole venue is a dump.

That’s what they do before every Olympics. At least going back to the LA games in ‘84. Somehow it became very important to them that the games must be DOOOOOOOOMED all the way up until they go off successfully.
There has never been an Olympics without some problems at the beginning. I wouldn’t mind the negatives so much if they said something of the positives about these Olympics. It does seem that the media might be stirring the pot a bit.
I’ve stayed in some hotels in Sochi. They are not world class, but the press is really sensationalizing things. That being said, I did get a kick out of the multiple toilets. That alone tells me that the Russians are very accommodating to Gays.
I agree. Obama and his sycophant US media want to embarrass Putin and will all they can to make Russia look bad.

I dunno. It seems pretty widespread. I used to travel a LOT and those conditions seem pretty Third World. Not only that, media from all Nations are complaining. And they send LOTS of photos so . . . the evidence strongly suggests they are being truthful and it is widespread. And finally, it is being held in a small town that did not have the infrastructure for this. They just didn’t get everything completed in time.
I think media is making them a lot bigger than they really are because the media loves turd burglars.

They ought to limit the Winter Olympics to six locations, rotating. Salt Lake City is the only host city that has ended up in the black, because so many venues were already there and didn’t need to be built. Many of the Winter Olympic sites end up being ghost towns after the games.
Probably a little of both. Some of the hotel shots I saw were obviously not ready for human occupancy but the press is very definitely trying to help the GLBT agenda along any way it can. As near as I can tell from the limited information we have, you’re OK if you’re an athlete, not OK if you’re the press. It may be that the latter is being sent a message as well.

If this was Venezuela, Cuba, or Iran, the MSM would be enjoying the local and unusual culture with all of its charming spartan accommodations. You would read a few stories glorifying the government for rapid transformation with just a few minor hick-ups.
