Something does not make sense here?
What kept the piranhas from attacking the fish prior to the fisherman catching it?
It seems to me the piranhas would have attacked and killed the fish earlier.
Could this had been a setup?

No..piranhas response to irregular moments..from the fish fighting the line...they “sense” a wounded fish..thus an easy kill
