A brave boy fearlessly risked his own life and showed astonishing bravery to save a helpless baby deer from drowning.

The boy, called Belal and believed to be in his early teens, defiantly held the young fawn in one hand above his head as he plunged through the surging river.

During the ordeal onlookers were unsure whether the boy was going to appear again.

Brave? yes, foolish? most likely.

I guess I’m bias towards certain animals. I might try to save a dog or something, but I can’t see myself going after a deer.

Heartwarming all the same in this case as it all ended well.

A deer isn’t worth your life.

I teach my kids to run them over if they jump out in front of your car.

If you try to swerve to miss them - hitting another car coming the opposite direction or a tree is a whole lot worse.

On the one hand you want a kid who takes charge and does so without hesitation, but to risk it all for an animal?
