Sorry to have messed all of this passionate debate. Pointless really.
Of course it is a bad idea to have the students and teachers sexually involved. Its illegal, it undermines school authority, fairness in the classroom, parental control, etc. But no thinking person would see age 24/17 sex as “pedophilia.”
And, I think in most of these female teacher/multiple male student cases, the teacher seems to have been dragged into childish behavior by the students rather than the students being forced into a scary adult world. Which is really where the damage might occur.
I'm sure he thinks we're trying to soil his immaculate perfection of unblemished, asexual personhood. We're all just a bunch of dirty beasts, you know.
