Paul definitely qualifies as a man who looks like an old lesbian.

I think Angela has aged more gracefully.

Fifty years ago today, the Beatles were cooped up in a New York City hotel room, besieged by hysterical fans who clogged up the streets around the hotel. The next day, they would be seen by millions on Ed Sullivan.

Paul McCartney was on top of the world then. Today he's a washed up bore. What the heck happened?

Only quality endures.

I'm just amazed at 70 he still has the energy to put on a 2+ hour show.

Fans are fickle. They get bored easily and want something new. Besides, toward the end of the Beatles career, their songs were really just so so.

They only had so much to offer. That's true of any musician. Chuck Berry is still touring playing Johnnie B Good.

Mick Jagger has a hell of a lot more energy than Sir Paul!

Well Mick has pretty much been a health nut since the late 70s.

Hardly. McCartney is not playing county fairs, he is still one of the top concert draws in the world. Selling millions of tickets to sold out shows in giant stadiums and other venues.

McCartney's still the best musical bassist in the world.

Note I didn't say he's the best bassist (although IMO he's better than most give him credit for), but he's the best musical bassist.

Not just bass. He played all the instruments on his debut solo album. There was a joke that he was the best drummer in The Beatles, and some do suggest that it wasn’t a joke.

He’s also not a half-bad lead guitarist, that’s him soloing on Taxman.

I could use this kind of washed up.

The former Beatle has earned the Number One spot on Billboard’s final Hot Tours ranking of 2013, racking up $40.6 million in ticket sales from the final six shows of his Out There! tour.

40 million for 6 shows is not bad for a has been.
