A gun pointed at his gut, the off-duty sheriff's sergeant digs through his pockets with his left hand, fumbling for money, as the three robbers surround him at the Far South Side gas station.
The sergeant is surer with his right hand, quickly drawing his own gun and firing point-blank. The gunman, 16, drops at his feet as the two others scatter, according to surveillance video that captured the robbery Monday night at a Citgo station at 103rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue, across the street from Gately Stadium.
The sergeant swings around at the fleeing robbers, then points the gun down as the gunman struggles to get up. The video shows the sergeant kicking away the robber's gun and then opening the passenger door of his own car, apparently to get his phone.
The 16-year-old was shot in the head and died, according to police. The sergeant was not injured, and police said they were still looking for the two other robbers this morning.

Not to worry. When they arrive where they are going they will find out fast. The one holding up his pants better get used to holding someone else's belt loop.

I thought that Monstrosity being built in DC near Union Station was waaay too big for its purpose. The "African American 'Culture' Museum..."
Sports thugs, armed criminals, rappers, etc. should fill the place up for the benefit of future generations.

Outstanding technique. He removes his valuables with his right hand transfers it to his left to give to the gunman and either shields his right for the draw or distracts long enough to draw and shoot. He is shielded from the others by the pumps and his car. Too bad for the thug play stupid games win stupid prizes.
If he wasn’t a cop he’d be charged with murder right now.
ONLY if the money is paid into his account first.
Give the cop at least seven days paid leave for the Internal Affairs investigation, and I imagine some grateful citizens will send him to Disney World.
