My area just had it’s third high school suicide this school year.

Dreadful——and I don’t get it.

Maybe it’s because in Elementary School, they are afraid to do anything to hurt the Kids’ self-esteem, so they never learn how to handle failure.

Unfortunately, one suicide in a school tends to trigger others. A boy on my street when I was in high school killed himself - carbon monoxide, car running in the garage. His father had died from a heart attack a couple of years earlier. It was “spun” as an accident.

There’s drug use, there are kids in awful home environments ... that’s always been around. I think one thing that is more novel is kids in multiple sexual relationships. In the 80s, that was more unusual. Promiscuity correlates with depression, and depression with suicide.
