Not generally true. Coors (when it was U.S. only) went all the way up to the Supreme Court so they could put the alcoholic content on the label. Budweiser for instance, is 5% even.

It’s been 25 years since I was last partying Stateside. At the time, in upper NYS, beer was only 3%, or at least any beer that I had. Is alcohol % governed by State law, or has the content increased over the years?
