Florida’s normally dry, mild winters have been usurped by regularly pluvial storms and cold mornings.

Thank you for opening today. We are snowed in here in central NJ and I am trying to find someone who will pick up donated clothing. No luck so far.

I shoveled 8 inches off the back steps and stoop and yard for the dogs about 2 hours ago and it’s completely covered over again. Dangit. We had some neighborhood kids just do the front stoop and drive and we’re sure to get plowed in too. Where they dug out is halfway filled again.

Is the sinkhole that is swallowing Corvettes caused by pluvial activity?

Cute answer - and regarding snow shoveling, my elbows hurt just thinking about it and I haven’t had to shovel for 10 years now

Elbows?

I think you’re doing it wrong.

Back is the main problem. Shoulders, maybe.

Hurricane Obama is pluvial
Rains regs and EOs down, diluvial
Constitution, he’s shredding
And quickly, we’re heading
Directly to the Third World, Peru-vial

I got back in from Dallas to Newark last night, beating the storm by a few hours. Flight left the gate on time at DFW, but just as we were about to hit the takeoff runway, the message nobody wants to hear was heard: “Is there a doctor on board?”

Some poor fellow in first class lost his lunch and the EMTs had to help him off the plane. Too bad he didn’t get sick before he boarded. Good news is he didn’t get sick after takeoff, since we would have had to land at the nearest airport.

One would think that it would only take a few minutes to get going going again, but, apparently, it’s not that easy. They had to find and retrieve his checked baggage (theoretically, he could have left a bomb in there) and they had to refuel, get re-queued on the flight line, etc. All in all, it took over an hour.

I spent 8 days in Texas and went outside exactly once. Temps were below freezing every day, with strong winds. It is supposed to warm up to the mid-60s there today, but I am enjoying the latest blizzard here in the People’s Republic of New Jersey.
