Bullsnot.

My neighbor tried to poison my *Ibizan Hounds*, who are so habitually nice they’re sickeningly sweet because HE is a freaking drunken psycho who is *still* pissed that I refused his advances 23 years ago.

I can’t even believe you typed that.

SMH.

Yes he would.

I’d give ya a link to the thread from which this originated, it was about a cop shooting a dog that was outside off leash and a neighbor had phoned police, and then the cop shot the dog, but I hate to send you there it wasn’t pretty.

But it is my position that the dog owner is responsible for what happened to the dog by allowing that situation to occur, leaving it outside, off leash and unattended.

As a dog owner and dog lover, I believe that we are responsible for them completely. They are dependent on us, and if we are lax or irresponsible, it can most certainly end in their death in any number of ways.

This dog owner was not responsible, and it cost the dog his life.

And now Nickcarraway says this putrid garbage to me.

I would very much like Mr. Nick to explain to me-

1) how dog owners are are not responsible for the safety of their dogs, which seems to be his position, and-

2) where exactly I said or implied-

“any dog not within a foot of it’s owner should be executed.” as he has asserted that I apparently think.

That is unless of course he simply isn’t man enough to back what he said to me.

And I don’t believe nickcarraway is man enough. Plain and simple.

Not just Da Ebils.

Worse than firearms, living, breathing four-legged terminators, they are.

Ironic, how the same people who have no tolerance for sn irrational fear of firearms duffer from cynophobia.

I couldn’t find anything where he’d said that to you.

I thought he was talking to the dumbass who thought this was a wonderful thing.

You know I don’t know. From the way nick worded his post I’m not sure, I’m also not sure why he addressed it to me.

Nick was also the person who posted the other story about the man’s dog being shot by the cop, and we got into it over about my view that the dog’s owner is ultimately responsible for what happened to that dog in that situation, so I suspect that is why he made that comment to me.

As far as the person in this thread posting in support of what happened to that pitbull who was poisoned, I have a real problem with that.

I’m not a fan of pitbulls, I do think they are a dangerous breed, however I realize that there are friendly pitbulls.

As far as poisoning goes, that is just evil and sick. Not the way to handle it at all. First of all it subjects the dog to a painful death, the owner to grief and it also endangers any other animal or even a child that may come across the tainted food.

I believe the person who did that should spend a good amount of time in prison, like 10 years min. I am not for cruelty to animals in any way, and for a person to post in favor of what happened is an outrage.

However, I am still not happy with what was said to me based upon previous exchanges in a similar thread, but seeing as how he doesn’t want to answer, I’m just going to let it go.

Thanks, Salamnder, it’s very good to see you, and let’s all <3 our dogs very much!

Thanks for the backstory and I think ~I~ will try to avoid tap dancing on any more internecine land minds, tonight.

;D

When I was a very little kid, my family came home from a night at the local drive-in to find a poisoned cat in our carport.

“Horrible” doesn’t cover it.

I don’t even think I know a word that would.

My dad finally killed it to end its suffering.

Somebody in the area was poisoning the cat lady’s herd frequently but that was the first, and thankfully only one we ever saw, in the flesh.

Poisoning has to be the most gutless, spineless, -soulless- thing a person can do.

I would imagine that poor cat had a lot to do with how I feel about animals, now.

I met a lady today who was talking about the drug dealers who live near her who let their dogs run in a pack.

The local LE cites them> Big deal. It doesn’t stop them.

Great example!

All you have to do is read the responses from these "animal lovers" to understand why someone might think the only solution available is to poison the dangerous dog. I've seen posts here that misrepresent what was written. I've seen other posts where the "animal lover" claims they would kill anyone who harmed their pet and let the police sort it out. Of course we've had a fair number of posts about how most of this dangerous breed are not a threat. All this does is illustrate that "animal lovers" are not capable of looking at a breed and accepting that the dangers that breed presents far exceed the benefits.

The final fallback for these "animal lovers" is to say "let the authorities handle it". As you so correctly point out the authorities do nothing.

If these were real "animal lovers" they would recognize the danger of a breed and push for it's elimination. They aren't animal lovers though, really they are people who believe their pets are human in nature and of course all other pets are the same.
