(Reuters) - Actress Ellen Page, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in "Juno," came out as a lesbian on Friday at a Las Vegas conference for gay teens.
"I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission," the 26-year-old actress said in a speech that drew roaring support from an audience at the Time to Thrive conference sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign.

What a great idea. Start building groups that represent white males, straights, Christians. Go public with it.

I enjoyed the movie “Juno”, but the few other films I’ve seen her in she was very forgettable. I don’t think this announcement will do much to enhance her career. Lesbians are a dime a dozen in Hollywood.

It’s been years since ANYONE has had to hide or omit the fact that they’re homosexual in hollyweird.
No mistaking her politics. She is your garden variety leftist Canadian movie star.
Don’t forget they are also screaming to Broadway “ hey I’m out. Get me into a big show” from coming out in public.
But discussing someone’s sexual preference in the workplace is grounds for sexual harassment lawsuits.
I am at an impasse. I would love to describe my preferences to my co workers. Especially this one buxom brunette.

The Coolness Factor and groupthink are tough for conservatives to overcome. And actors are notoriously insecure and prone to feeling unworthy of their good fortune. And when they get rich they have smart-alecky accountants to help them dodge taxes just like evil Republican businessmen.
Of course she could just be (saying) she's a lesbian to help her career... (yeah I know it's twisted isn't it?)
Yup, portraying a teen choosing to keep her child instead of aborting earned her major kudos around here.
