From the Gladiator soundtrack by Hans Zimmer...
Released in the United States on May 5, 2000, Gladiator was a box office success, receiving positive reviews, and was credited with briefly reviving the historical epic. The film was nominated for and won multiple awards, particularly five Academy Awards in the 73rd Academy Awards including Best Picture. Although there have been talks of both a prequel and sequel, as of 2012, no production has begun. Gladiator is the original soundtrack of the 2000 film of the same name. The original score and songs were composed by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard and was released in 2000, entitled Gladiator: Music From the Motion Picture. The Lyndhurst Orchestra performing the score was conducted by Gavin Greenaway.
BUMP for later. Thanks.
Hard to believe he got his start in music playing for the Buggles (of "Video Killed the Radio Star" fame).
Oh my goodness. Didn't know that! I first got clued into him in the late 80s with the Rainman soundtrack. I'm slowly finding other things over the last few years. I liked the Now We are Free piece from Gladiator for a bit, but hadn't seen the movie (finally watched it at Christmas and LOVED it) or heard the rest of the soundtrack until the last week or so. I found a good live version of Time from Inception a few months back. Have you seen/heard it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQvM4EM0lO8

The music was wonderful.
Zimmer’s “As Good As It Gets”. Best insectoid music ever. Crazy and beautiful.
All,
Check out Hans Zimmer’s opening called “Honor” for the HBO Series, “The Pacific.” And the end credits track as well. Tremendous! If you have an iMac or iPad you can find the soundtrack for “The Pacific.”
By the way, yesterday was the 69th Anniversary of “Operation Detachment,” The Battle for Iwo Jima (Feb 19 - Mar 26 1945).
Joey, do you like movies about gladiators?
Thank you for the tip about the Hans Zimmer piece and the history anniversary.

Lol...must be from Airplane. :)
Thanks... I couldn’t remember it. I went to iTunes to purchase “Honor” and I’m going to purchase “With The Old Breed” as well. I’m working on a Family History DVD Documentary on the iDVD/iMac program and I have a military chapter with all those of my mother’s line of people who served. It makes great background score.
