I’ve often said we’ve passed or are approaching the point of no return. However, incidents like Ukraine and Egypt make me think we’re nowhere near the point of no return. The people of Iran were on the brink of overthrowing their government without any guns. Even if 99.9% of American gun owners submit, that leaves over 2,000,000 angry gun owners. What could 2,000,000 dedicated patriots do? Nothing if the government threw its full force into crushing them. But they couldn’t, and even if they tried 2,000,000 would turn into 20,000,000 over night.

The Iranians were not going to overthrow the Islamic Republic without arms. That’s why they were begging the US for aid in that arena—and Obama utterly refused.

Just an interesting little tidbit I read this morning:

In the Ukraine there is 6.6 guns per 100 civilians. In the U.S. there are 101 guns per 100 civilians. And many have the ammo to keep those guns fed for a long time.
