Thank you for the ping. Today was very nice, almost tropical considering what it has been like these past weeks. The snow/ice has finally all melted and it is quite swamp like in the yard because the ground was still frozen and could not absorb the melted snow/ice.
The only ‘gardening’ I have been doing is watering the indoor plants. Two of my orchids are days away from displaying their colors. I planted the tops of three pineapples over these past weeks and it appears that one is taking root. The other two were not in the best of shape to begin with, but I could not help myself to see if I could get them to grow. If they take root they make a really fun plant to have during the summer.
After nearly two weeks of snow cover I was finally able to make my way out to the garden to empty my compost containers.
I am in the process of cleaning out the kitchen. Amazing how much stuff can be collected and stuffed in the backs of cabinets, never to be used or seen for decades.
The weather people say we have another polar vortex headed this way. So I will not be doing much or anything in the garden proper. I might just get through all these cabinets before spring returns.
I need to get back to the cabinet cleaning and organizing. Everything is a big mess right now and needs a good cleaning.
