Ya. Some call Colorado the “experiment.” Like we are some kind of freak show. Actually, I tend to agree.
My wife and I are seriously considering moving. My family has been in Colorado for close to 150 years and we love (correction, loved) Colorado.
I went out there a few times in the 1990s. It was very obvious in that mountain resort even back then.
Good question - would probably go back at some point because the skiing is so good but there are a lot of other options such as Utah and Wyoming, two places where we love to go.
never took even pain pills, do not smoke ( any thing ) do not even drink caffeine and no liquor has ever touched my lips. As a offshore oilfield worker I have been stripped naked, to check for drugs been thrown in a darkened room and had flash light stuck in my face to check eye pupils for signs of drug use. Had dog almost sniff up my ass. Then some smart guy figured how to test for drugs in my pee and was randomly check for drug my last 20 years in the oilfields ( a average of twice a month ) So it is why I laugh so much about you alls posting about pot. And the final indignation was every time they took a sample I was watch as I peed into the sample container. And not every time was it a man who looked at my penis sometimes it was a woman. So I lived the American drug dream.

Not only does a person risk their life if they are intoxicated while operating machinery, but the lives of others. I know that it is a cliche but it is the truth.
Plus, you are working for someone else and that someone else has the right to expect a fair day's of work from you.
Bottom line: to each his own (the libertarian way). Just as long as your “extracurricular activities” don't affect me, I don't care. Unfortunately, that is not always the case.
