Also the ceremony played Rachmaninoff’s 2nd piano concerto. He fled top to the US after the Commies came to power and is buried in Westchester County, NY.

Rachmaninoff was arguably the greatest classical composer in the last century. Gershwin, Copeland, Tiomkin and Debussy were all great, but with the possible exception of Debussy, their genres weren't pure classical.

I must have missed that part of the ceremony. Did the talking heads even mention Rachmaninoff?
