Just a note that you should always use liquor carefully in below freezing conditions. Many people have killed themselves by drinking sub-freezing liquor, which quickly freezes their trachea, and they are “dead before they hit the floor.”
24 proof liquor freezes at -6.7°C (20°F)
64 proof liquor freezes at -23.33°C (-10°F)
84 proof liquor freezes at -34.44°C (-30°F)

thanks for the info....it would be a common thing to take a drink to ‘Warm up’ in freezing temps and not think about the liquor being a hazard.....

I think that's more urban legend than fact. Only because when I was in the military, we used to keep schnapps and other liquors in the freezer and we'd drink it ice-cold out of shot glasses. Other than maybe a hangover the next day, there were never any ill effects.
Maybe this is theoretically true but in practice, how many people would ever be in a situation where they had access to liquor that was chilled to -30F!
