Time-Laps Video Shows Heavy Storm Moving Across San Francisco Bay

Time-lapse footage captured by an NBC Bay Area weather camera shows rain and wind as it moved across the San Francisco Bay on Friday afternoon.

Friday's storm is part of a second round of rain this week to dump down on the region. The storm sparked a barrage of trouble, including the death of a motorist in Oakland, the rescue of a person from "frigid" waters in a San Jose creek, widespread flooding and power outages.

Bay Area Wet Weather Sparks Crashes, Flooding, Rescues, Outages The rain, which is much needed as California is suffering through a drought, is now also causing headaches for other parts of the state, too.

Mandatory evacuations were in effect for some of Los Angeles on Friday, as rain, snow and gusty winds brought threats of flooding and mudslides. At one point, a man and two dogs were rescued from the Los Angels River's rising flood waters.

And in San Diego, lifeguards were on alert because of high surf and high tide warnings, as rain brought as much as 10 inches in the mountains there.

The rain is expected to last through Saturday.

I could have sworn I saw Al Gore standing in front of his mansion shaking his fist at the sky.

Despite the fact that it’s rained a lot in the last week, they said it hasn’t helped at all, and that it’s actually made it worse.

Maybe Jerry can push through a billion dollar flood bill on the heels of the drought bill. That would be an unprecedented achievement.

I'd bet big money that it wasn't the storm directly, but somebody driving way too recklessly for conditions. Traffic on 101 south of Gilroy was stopped dead for nine hours the other day because some idiot was going 80 at 1 AM during the storm and bounced off the median into a tractor trailer.

Ok, no flame but I gotta ask. Drought made worse by rain? Isn't that like freezing temps and snow caused by 'global warming'?
