There’s no reason why we can’t all assume that many characters are gay but too polite to shove it in our faces every five minutes.

I remember “Six Feet Under” where one of the leads was an undertaker who ‘happened’ to be gay.

If the promo for the show would have played it up, I probably would have bypassed it, but they ‘slid it in’ (hmmmm) and it was somewhat acceptable...a little to much PDA but not as bad as most of the trash they throw at us.

Even “Archie Bunker” had a twinkle toes on now and then but Arch knew how to handle them....
Didn’t the line “don’t let him stand to close to that open window” come from Arch? maybe Al Bundy - another great American... <: <:

Virtually one whole season of “The Sopranos” was ruined when the writers decided to make the problems of one Mafia character who was a homo the story for many episodes. The wife and I were really glad when the character finally got killed off...but not quick enough.
