Occasionally, in the 70’s, I drove into NYC. I found it worthwhile to pay the guy a buck, and instruct him to ‘go away’. Extortion, for sure, but back then, it was a scary place.
I remember where there were NO squeegee guys in this city.
And when you could still find a squeegee at the gas station to do it yourself while you filled up with gas.
You still can find squeegees at service stations in Houston, use them all the time. I can remember when the “service” in service stations meant that someone not only pumped your gas they swept out your “floorboards” for you! Remember that kid? :)

While he probably sympathizes with them, he’ll have to face the reality that he needs the wealthy (for revenues). His predecessor was a flaming liberal, but reality steps in.
