Both Barack Obama and John Kerry have accused Vladimir Putin of re-instituting the superannuated, failed policy of national conquest that was all the rage in the 19th century. To my eyes, the Russian approach seems more successful than the Rodney King “Can’t we all just get along?” non-approach favored by President Kumbaya and his minions.

Get the homework in before Putin invades Staten Island.

I am superannuated, and I didn’t even know it!

Who will we superannuate?
Dingell! Dingell!
Yea!

(And really, the wife is “Debbie Dingell.” I know, name recognition and all that, but if my name was “Debbie Dingell” I would go by my maiden name.)

Seems to me the etymology isn't quite right ... it's missing the 'a' in "annuate", for starters.

There is a word: ( Lewis & Short at the Perseus Project )

B. Subst.: annŭum , i, and more freq. in the plur.: annŭa , ōrum, n., an annuity, annual stipend, pension: “publici servi annua accipiunt,”

... and can it be mere coincidence that a pension is involved ? "super" would be in the sense of "beyond" ... an extended pension.

the left would consider it a superannuated ritual, but everyone can benefit from reflection on their lives, their mortality, and what they can do while they are on this earth.

Good morning! The primary in Texas yesterday showed that the Tea Party wants RINO David Dewhurst out badly enough to vote for an odd duck, Dan Patrick. They will go to a run off in May. But oddly enough, the Tea Party did NOT prevail in getting rid of Cornyn.

The left just keeps on singing
Their same old communist song,
A nice new verse here and there-
What could possibly go wrong?

The philosophy is superannuated-
Any claim to relevance is done
A socialist dump is a hellhole
Where nobody really has any fun

Except, of course the rulers-
Small wonder the liberals see
That example as their utopia
At the expense of you and me...
